The first ever association for teachers of personal, social and health education (PSHE) could be on the cards.

The National Children's Bureau has begun a "scoping exercise" to seewhether such an association would be useful. It is already consultingwith professionals and will set up an online questionnaire to discussthe idea in September. The charity intends to present its findings inNovember.

Simon Blake, acting director of children's development at the NationalChildren's Bureau, said: "PSHE is the only subject that does not haveits own association.
