The Department for Education and Skills has said it will publish twodocuments setting out the implications of the duty on local authoritiesin the Children Act 2004. A spokeswoman said separate guidance for localauthorities and schools governors would be out in the autumn.
The Association of Directors of Education and Children's Services saidthe Government should focus on the responsibilities of schools andrecognise the costs to local authorities of implementing the duty.
Kevin Crompton, the association's chair, said: "What I'll be looking foris some indication of how resources from schools and local authoritiescan be brought together to provide the resources we need."
