The survey by Clubs for Young People found that just four per cent ofyoung people would not want to get involved in activities like sports, volunteering and learning new things. But 43 per cent of the 1,01314-to 18-year-olds surveyed said they would prefer to do theseactivities in the community, rather than at school.
Clubs for Young People chief executive Simon Antrobus said: "We arereally encouraged that young people are exploding the myth that afterschool they just hang around shopping centres." However, the charity isconcerned that if activities are not taken into the community many youngpeople will miss out.
