A survey for charity Epilepsy Action found that 52 per cent of primaryschools did not know how many of their pupils had epilepsy. Secondaryschools fared better with only 12 per cent unaware of the number ofpupils with the condition.
Furthermore, just 19 per cent of all schools felt their staff's level ofepilepsy awareness and knowledge was good. Some 13 per cent judged it aspoor or very poor.
