4.6% of nursery and primary school pupils taking free school meals in January 2004 (14.2 per cent in England)

- 19.1% of special educational needs pupils without statements in January 2004 (16.1 per cent in England)

- 82.9% of primary pupils were classed as White British in January 2004 (79.3 per cent in England)

- 0.13% of secondary pupils permanently excluded from school in 2002/03 (0.23 per cent in England)

Vicky Wales, acting head of pupil and parent support at the Borough of Poole, said: "In Poole, pastoral support planning is used to work with parents to develop joint plans to support young people who are presenting challenging behaviour in our schools. Our primary school for children with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties has an outstanding outreach service."
