5.1% of nursery and primary school pupils taking free school mealsin January 2004 (14.2 per cent in England)

- 4.1% of primary pupils did not have English as their first language inJanuary 2004 (11 per cent in England)

- 2.1% of primary pupils with special educational needs statements inJanuary 2004 (1.6 per cent in England)

- 0.24% of the school population excluded permanently in 2003/04 (0.13per cent in England)

Bracknell Forest Council set targets to reduce fixed-term exclusionsafter its last Ofsted report said it needed to do more to support pupilbehaviour. The council also brought in measures to combat racism anddevised a strategy to promote social inclusion.
