It's not the most glamorous place in the world; it serves its purpose.
But this week's cover feature set me thinking how I'd feel if I was deposited there as an unaccompanied young person who had travelled by truck and bus for three months across Europe to escape persecution.
This was the case with 17-year-old Ali from Iran, whose story is told in this week's cover feature (see p14). Seventeen-year-old Din from Albania and 16-year-old Suleiman from Eritrea tell similar stories of momentous journeys of flight from torment.
What they all have in common is that they are being helped by the Dreamers youth project in Loughborough. They also face the likelihood of being sent home on their 18th birthdays, despite the extreme danger they face if returned, but they are integrating into British society and are well established and happy.
