Craig Fees, archivist at the Planned Environment Therapy Trust archive and study centre, said he and his colleague David Lane wanted to hear from any professionals in the sector who might be interested in forming the network.
"We don't want to step on anyone's toes, but we'd like to get an idea of whether this kind of network already exists," Fees said. "We have already had responses from nurseries." The network could also cover residential childcare and other social care placements.
Fees and Lane hope to hear from anyone interested in the network, which will aim to collect records of childcare placements, nurseries and other settings through history.
