The findings came from a survey of more than 12,000 pupils asking whatthey thought about a range of health-related issues. Almost 200 primaryand secondary schools took part.
As a result of the findings, local councillors are to further examinethe impact of domestic violence on children and young people. The surveyalso recommended the need for a sharper focus on the significantminority of children and young people who feel at risk or unhappy.
The young people surveyed had an overwhelmingly positive outlook, butbetween nine and 14 per cent of respondents said they sometimes feltisolated or unsafe and are involved in risk-taking behaviours.
