Disability breaks website planned

Health Social Care
Charity Kids is launching an online short breaks booking service for families of children with disabilities.

Called Kids Direct Short Breaks, the service aims to be as user-friendly as established holiday booking websites. Families can set up an online account and are asked to give their likes and dislikes of short break types and destinations. This is then used to provide a breakdown of suitable short breaks.

Emma Clarke, director of Kids Direct Short Breaks, said: "Users can view the profiles of short break providers, see what's on offer and book what they want. It uses the latest technology to make life easier for families with disabled children."

The service will be launched at an event at the House of Commons on 9 June. Junior children's minister Baroness Delyth Morgan and Council for Disabled Children director Christine Lenehan will attend.
