Daily roundup: Doncaster children's trust, information sharing, and Scottish powers

Education Secretary instructs transfer of powers to Doncaster children's trust; Ceop under scrutiny for delay in sharing information; and call to make Scotland the most child-friendly country, all in the news today.

The launch of an independent trust to run children's services in Doncaster has moved a step closer after Education Secretary Nicky Morgan took the procedural step of instructing the authority to enter into the legal agreement with the Doncaster Trust - effectively starting the transfer of the children's social care functions. The Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (Ceop) is to be investigation by the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) after it took more than a year to alert police to information about potential paedophiles. The BBC reports that the National Crime Agency, which is responsible for Ceop, has referred its handling of information, including intelligence relating to hospital doctor Myles Bradbury, who on Monday admitted offences against boys, to the IPCC.
