
In October 2013, 972 care applications were made, latest figures from the Children and Family Court Advisory and Support Service show. The figure is the second highest month in 2013 and represents a two per cent increase compared to those received in October 2012. The rise follows four months of relatively low applications.
Labour leader Ed Miliband wants adverts for payday loan companies to be banned from appearing during children’s television programmes. According to the Independent, Miliband has said that a Labour government would either ask the Advertising Standards Authority to prevent “irresponsible advertising” or change the law to ban them altogether.
