
Family doctors have condemned NHS care for children with mental health problems as "woefully inadequate" and have warned that vulnerable young people are coming to harm while they wait up to a year for specialist help. The Guardian reports that GPs warned many young people in need of urgent support are missing out because rationing of care means they are not deemed to be ill enough to qualify.
?Pupils at a primary school in Dundee have been asked to sign a fair play contract if they want to play football during break times. The BBC reports that children at Forthill Primary in Broughty Ferry took part in drafting the contract with staff.

West Berkshire has been named as the most successful area in turning around so-called troubled families, according to figures published by the Department for Communities and Local Government. Get Reading reports that 91 per cent of families supported over the first year of West Berkshire Council’s Turnaround Families Programme from 2014 to 2015 have achieved and sustained improvements in their lives.
Nine schools in Gloucester and Stroud are joining forces to set up a free school for children at risk of exclusion. The Gloucester Citizen reports that the school is set to open in 2018, however the National Union of Teachers (NUT) warns that such provision should be provided by the local authority.
Young apprentices across England are auditioning to take part in a campaign to call on young people to start their career by choosing an apprenticeship. The Get In Go Far campaign will include advertising across TV and online, while its website will offer advice to young people about apprenticeships, work experience and traineeships.
