Teenage pregnancy rate continues to fall; School in Leeds bans popular playground game; more than 70 children go missing every day in London, all in the news today.

The number of teenage girls falling pregnant in England and Wales is continuing to fall, figures published by the Office for National Statistics show. The BBC reports that there were around 23 conceptions per 1,000 15- to 17-year-old girls in 2014, compared with a high of 55 in 1971.


A primary school in Leeds has banned the traditional game "tig" from the playground. The BBC reports that the school decided to ban the game after some children had their clothes torn and others were left upset.


More than 70 children in London are reported missing to police every day, it has emerged. Freedom of Information requests by The Evening Standard found that there were 25,622 incidents of children going missing from care or their home in the last financial year.


The former chief executive of an exam board has been appointed as the new chief executive of the Association of Employment and Learning Providers. Mark Dawe will take over the role from Stewart Segal after Easter.


Children's services in Wrexham could face cuts of £500,000 as the council attempts to balance the books for its 2016/17 budget. News North Wales reports that the council is consulting on changes to its education support, youth justice, play and health services.
