The project, which has been developed by the Met's Stop and Search team following discussions with young people, is likely to be trialled in three London areas from September. It would allow those who have been stopped and searched by the police to text their verdict on how they have been treated to a special number - a process similar to the "how's my driving?" sticker on the back of lorries.
The idea of the pilot is being explored by the Met in consultation with groups, including the UK Youth Parliament, as part of an initiative to improve its relationship with young people. It could involve trying out different methods in each of the three pilot areas.
