Crime: Barnet teens create anti-crime posters

The Crime Concern-funded project holds meetings between young people and the police every six weeks, and is considering increasing this to once a fortnight. The group has identified key issues that concern both parties, which will be the subjects of the campaign.

The posters tackle cannabis, particularly its reclassification as a class C drug; the legal stance on carrying weapons such as knives; and stop-and-search rights. About 10,000 leaflets and 250 posters will be sent to local schools and youth groups.

Alison Kira, project manager at Barnet Action 4 Youth, said: "The idea of the group is that they set up projects and pass on their ideas."
