What does it involve? The five 18- to 20-year-olds in the most recent group to qualify took part in activities such as creating a garden at Cippenham Infant School, Slough. This included raising the £553 gardening costs through activities such as a cake sale and sponsored walk.
What do they get from the course? At the end of the course, they were awarded a City & Guilds qualification in personal teamwork and community skills. The course also aims to improve their chances of securing a job or college place. Of those taking part, one has started a national diploma course in health studies and another is studying travel and tourism at college.
