Climb Every Mountain Adventurers raise cash for fostered children

A team of foster carers and social workers have raised a total of 52,000 for the Fostering Network by trekking through the mountains of Peru.

The money raised by the 17-strong group will be used by the fostering charity to support efforts to improve the lives of fostered children across the UK. The 10-day trek saw the team climb 4,200 metres to visit the ancient Inca settlement of Machu Picchu. "It was the biggest physical challenge I have ever undertaken," said Ruth Hadland, a project manager at the Fostering Network.
