- Can you tell us about the Migrant Children's Project?

The Migrant Children's Project works to raise awareness of the rights of refugee, asylum-seeking and migrant children and to ensure they receive the support they need. This includes access to accommodation, social services support, education and health services. The project offers legal advice and information to professionals and carers who work with these children. Advice and information is available on the website and can be provided by phone or email, and the project has published a free 80-page guide to the rights of separated refugee and asylum-seeking children. The project can also refer cases to solicitors within the Children's Legal Centre to deal with both the child's welfare needs and immigration concerns. The project also provides training for organisations in the voluntary and statutory sectors and conducts campaigning work on how to meet the needs of refugee and asylum-seeking children, through lobbying, media commentary and contributing to consultations on government policy and legislation.
