Children's toolkit to aid consultation

Education
Children in Stoke-on-Trent are to benefit from a child-friendly version of the School Improvement Planning Framework.

The simplified version of the toolkit from the Training and Development Agency for Schools is designed for children who are involved in consultations about school improvement. It aims to debunk jargon and explain Every Child Matters, the local children and young people's plan and targeted youth support document.

Carole Kind, extended schools remodelling adviser at Stoke-on-Trent City Council, said: "We've had an overwhelmingly positive response. Young people love the active involvement."

The framework aims to help schools focus on all the needs of a child - not just their learning.
