As part of National Child Employment Week, which runs from 28 July to 1 August, council staff will visit workplaces to raise awareness of child employment regulations, including the need for a council-issued work permit for each young person being employed.
Councillor David Elkin, lead cabinet member for learning and school effectiveness at East Sussex County Council, one of more than 70 councils taking part, said: "It's vitally important employers understand the law and keep to it to ensure young people are safe at work."
