Children's centres to support families hit by recession

1 min read Early Years
The agency tasked with delivering the children's centre programme is launching a range of resources to help centres support families in the recession.

Together for Children (TfC) has just launched the first of a number of products, The Workforce Wheel. It is an interactive tool providing online support, advice and access to existing materials created by other centres, ensuring that work is not duplicated unnecessarily.

"We got a very strong message from Beverley Hughes before she stepped down as children's minister that it is a difficult economic climate and children's centres need to move at pace to respond to changing needs," said Maxine Roberts, TfC's director for strategy and partnerships. "These resources are about sharpening the focus of centres so they are ready to meet the challenge."
