Uniquely, the manifesto's policies were chosen by readers of ChildrenNow, who voted for 10 policies from a selection of 20 ideas proposed bychildren's professionals. Children Now readers cast a total of 785votes.
Charlotte Goddard, acting editor of Children Now, said: "Earlier thisyear Unicef issued a damning report exposing the dismal state ofchildren's wellbeing in the UK. This manifesto spells out the reformschildren's professionals say are needed to start making the treatment ofchildren in this country something to be proud of."
The manifesto will be launched in Parliament today and in the monthsahead Children Now will work to promote the policies within it.
