
As part of its submission to a Cabinet Office review of red tape in childcare, an early years organisation has called for all the childcare support programmes available to parents to be streamlined into one payment.
The National Day Nursery Association (NDNA) said that the government should revisit its existing model of childcare support, calling it a "complex picture" involving a number of initiatives and government departments.
The Family and Childcare Trust also suggested consolidating the myriad of existing childcare funding streams into a single payment in its 2016 Childcare Survey. It called on the government to "integrate all the financial support into one simple, transparent and progressive system for parents that delivers help to those who need it most".
