Caroline Basham and her husband Mark moved to Hill Top Farm in thevillage of Mappleton six years ago.
Farmyard Friends Day Nursery, which opened last month after an 18-monthstruggle to gain planning permission, now has more than 40 children onthe books.
Basham said children and parents were attracted to its rural locationand expanding range of animals. "The children can get involved infeeding the animals including a miniature pedigree cow and collectingeggs from our free-range hens," she said.
She said the idea for the nursery came about after the couple demolishedsome buildings and her husband pointed out she could use the spare spaceto run the nursery she had always wanted.
