Child poverty: Charities join forces to lobby Chancellor

A group of leading charities are joining forces to put pressure on the Chancellor, Gordon Brown, to make sure the goal of ending child poverty in the UK becomes a reality.

Members of the campaign to End Child Poverty, including Barnardo's andthe Family Welfare Association, plan to target the Treasury as part of aMonth of Action to End Child Poverty.

The action month launches on 17 October and will include activities tohighlight the causes and consequences of child poverty and showcasesolutions.
