Child-Centred Plans: Hodge pays visit to her children's former nursery

Children's minister Margaret Hodge paid a visit last week to the nursery that all four of her children attended as plans to transform it into a children's centre gather pace. The Kate Greenaway Nursery, the first full neighbourhood nursery in Islington, north London, will become a children's centre by September. A new extension providing specialist facilities for under-threes has already been built, while a 45,000 grant will help to develop the nursery's garden.

The nursery offers 51 places and is open from 8am to 6pm, 48 weeks a year.
