Charities: London Marathon runners raise 3m

Shelter will use some of the 500,000 raised for it to help homeless young people, while Scope will use some of its 140,000 to help those with cerebral palsy in specialist education.

The NSPCC is hoping to receive 450,000 towards its Full Stop campaign to end child cruelty, while the 50,000 raised for SportsAid will be used to give grants to young athletes.

Disability charity Whizz-Kidz is hoping to get 1m, while Barnardo's is expecting about 220,000. ChildLine, NCH, YMCA England, the Terrence Higgins Trust and Centrepoint are also set to benefit.
