- Guidance on children and young people's plan published. Revised

guidance on Children Act and national minimum standards on private

fostering published, regulations laid before Parliament

- Guidance published on multi-agency working and lead professional for

children's services

- Duty for agencies to co-operate commences on 1 April

MAY

- Guidance published on duty to safeguard and promote welfare

- Guidance published on educational achievement of looked-after children

- Framework for inspection of children's services published

JUNE

- Duty to promote educational achievement of looked-after children takes

effect on 1 June.
