A national charity working with homeless young people.

- What does it do?

Centrepoint is a national charity working to improve the lives of socially excluded homeless young people. It provides a range of services, including emergency night shelters and short-stay hostels, specialist projects for care leavers, ex-offenders, single parents, foyers and floating support services. These provide the foundations for young people to tackle the issues that led to them becoming homeless and develop skills for a sustainable future. Centrepoint will mark its 40th anniversary in 2009 and has helped more than 70,000 young homeless people since its inception.

- Where is it based?

Centrepoint's head office is in London and most of its direct provision services are based in and around the capital, but it has a growing presence in the Midlands and the North East.
