Using game show-style voting pads, the Year 5 children got to pick their favourite books and activities from a list drawn up by the London borough. The results of their vote were instantly displayed on a big screen.
Children from seven primary schools will get a chance to vote, with the final votes being cast tomorrow (7 February). Local libraries will buy the most popular books and the winning activities will be provided as part of the borough's National Year of Reading programme.
Nine-year-old Rebecca Tighe from Crook Log said: "It's a fair way of doing it, even if you don't get your first choice."
