
Wright believes that being an EYP has helped him to be a better manager. "Wherever possible, I
encourage my staff to top-up their training and professional development," he says. "Early years
workers need to be highly skilled to ensure that children learn crucial skills that set them on the right path of learning and development."
He adds: "Training such as EYPS gives credence to professionals, both inside and outside the sector, and shows that their role matters to the care and development of children. It provides early years workers with the opportunity to reflect on practice and be more rigorous in their assessments."
