Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance Strategy

The strategy aims to support young people and adults to make better informed decisions about their futures and improve the careers planning available to them.

This strategy forms part of the government's overarching Skills Strategy for Northern Ireland, Success through Skills.

The overall purpose of this paper is to make policy proposals for the future development of Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) and to set out a strategy that will address the CEIAG needs of individuals of all ages. It is hoped it will develop a careers education, information, advice and guidance system that helps young people and adults to develop career planning skills.

The responsibility for the development of the strategy lies with the Department of Education (DE) and the Department for Employment and Learning (DEL).
