Care-leavers - Project launches to assist care-leavers

1 min read

The 3.5m two-year project, led by youth charity Rainer, targets 15- to 24-year-olds and aims to create resources for those working with young people in care.

A central project team will develop resources such as training programmes that will then be put into practice by the local authority partners.

Resources will be developed in line with four themes: education and training, employment, empowerment, and preparation and planning for independence.

The project also has 30,000 to set up a web site to house the material it has developed.

The European Social Fund has put 2m into the scheme, and the remainder comes from partners such as the local authorities.
