Bishop of London reveals youth plan

The Diocese of London is to help to train up to 150 youth work volunteers over the next three years as part of its new youth strategy.

The strategy, which is being delivered with The Children's Society, will also make grants of up to £3,000 to youth groups.

Six young leaders from Hackney and Islington have formed a Youth Adviser Panel to oversee the strategy, and will also allocate grants worth between £50 and £500 to youth projects.

The Bishop of London Richard Chartres said: "This important partnership with The Children's Society strengthens our commitment to the capital's young people, encouraging them to play active roles in their local communities."
