The apparent murder in Iraq of aid worker Margaret Hassan and other global affairs may have dominated the agenda at last week's Bishops' Conference in Cardiff, but the Catholic Church's youth services weren't entirely neglected.
Tucked away within the conference's wide-reaching agenda was a small item on the Church's Covenant with Young People, which after three years in development has finally been approved (YPN, 22-28 September, p4).

John Biggins, adviser for the formation of young people at the Archdiocese of Liverpool and a former chair of PACYO, has been one of the key promoters of the covenant since work on it began back in 2001. His role involves supporting adults in the Church who give pastoral care to young people.
