
Inside the main room of Y-Kids Redhill sits a wishing well assembled from recycled junk by the primary school children who attend the YMCA East Surrey after-school and holiday club.
"We got the children to make the wishing well out of anything they could find and we have little buckets that, at any time, the children can go and put a wish in," says Kristina Lastoweckyi, head of children's services at YMCA East Surrey.
"Their wishes could be for a new activity or a piece of equipment, for example. The wish goes into the well and at the end of the day we collate their wishes and look at them as a team."
