Battle of ideas to curb climate change

Youth Work
Young environmentalists from across England have taken part in a Dragons' Den-style showdown in a bid to become Climate Change Champions.

Finalists from nine regions travelled to London last week to show off their entries that promote climate change awareness.

North East finalist Jack White, 15, composed and performed a song about tackling global warming with his band Troubleshooter. Hayleigh Murray, also 15, from Yorkshire, presented T-shirts emblazoned with eco-slogans during a fashion show.

Officials from The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and a representative from Friends of the Earth judged the competition.

The winner will be announced on 20 February.
