There have been a lot of calls in the media lately regarding sex andrelationships education being a mandatory part of PSHE and citizenshiplessons. Sadly, the issue has been sensationalised by headlinesscreaming: "Sex lessons for five-year-olds".
I thought about this when babysitting my sister's children. I washolding the baby when the four-year-old said: "Mummy's tummy got hugewhen she was having Michael."
"That's because he was growing inside her," I responded. She gave me afunny look. "Is that why your tummy is so big Claire?"
"No, I don't have any," I replied. "Why?" she asked. "Don't you likethem?" Here we go, I thought. "I love children, but some people havebabies and some don't," I said.
