It's a bit complicated. It came during an appeal hearing brought by themother of a school refuser. Magistrates had found her guilty of failingto ensure her son attended school, even though she tried to physicallydrag him.
They found her guilty on the basis she had not done everything she couldhave, suggesting she should have tried to get the help of the boy'sfather.
But Mr Justice Collins decided there was no evidence to justify theconclusion that he would have been any help. He quashed herconviction.
So that's official.
