Back Page: And this is what I do - Rebecca McIntosh, internationalmanager, Eurodesk UK

1 min read

Eurodesk is a partnership between the British Council and YouthLink Scotland.

How did it start? It started in 1990 and the name came from the fact that it was just one desk. It was developed in Edinburgh in response to enquiries received about youth workers needing to find out about European funding and not being able to find it in one place.

What does your role involve? I head the UK network. We have about 60 local partners throughout Scotland, Northern Ireland, England and Wales and provide them with free training and support to provide European information locally. We receive information from national partners across Europe on opportunities such as archeological field trips or international detached youth worker seminars and filter that through the network.
