At-risk young get music assistance

Youth Work
Young people in Bristol at risk of falling into antisocial behaviour have been awarded a 10,500 grant to help them take part in music projects.

GY music group, based in Horfield and Lockleaze, has been awarded £4,000 from the council's positive activities fund and £6,500 from the youth opportunity fund. The money will be used to help them stage live performances as well as produce their tracks and upload their videos onto Myspace.

GY member Tyler James, 18, said: "Getting the grant to fund the equipment and learn how to use it has allowed me to do stuff I'd always wanted to do."
