Question: I'm tired of doing the same old activities with children at my nursery in the run-up to Christmas. Any ideas?

June O'Sullivan: The story of Father Christmas or Santa Claus is a great springboard to talk about the spirit of Christmas. It's all about a kind man called Nicholas who lived in Myra in Turkey. He is said to have helped a poor family by putting gold in each of their stockings which were hanging on the fireplace to dry, saving them from destitution. He went on to become a bishop and a saint and we know him by his Dutch name - Santa Claus.
