Ask the Expert: Rebuilding staff morale

1 min read

My team is working hard, but morale is suffering due to reduced funding and cutbacks. How can we improve things?

The pressure on services is intense these days. It is important to build strength and support from within the team. People can help sustain each other by keeping a focus on their key purpose – to help improve people’s life chances.

Find time to meet as a team and discuss successes. Focus on what can be done and what success would look like in each case. Pick achievable success factors. Record them and celebrate them as they are achieved. Keep a record of these and circulate a note of them to the team and their managers. Invite other agencies to join you for lunch and talk about how you can help and support each other.
