I am due an Ofsted early years inspection soon. How can I prepare?
The new inspections are much more about a partnership approach. Early years settings continue to be subject to no-notice inspections, so you should pull together a folder with examples of your work to demonstrate your understanding and ability to apply the revised Early Years Foundation Stage across your service. This can include evidence of outings, parents’ events, staff training and development, any compliments received and improvements made.
The biggest emphasis in the inspection is on how you ensure children are well cared for and nurtured and how you lead the teaching across the day. Inspectors will observe how you support the children to become confident learners. They will pick a child at random and check you know their interests, progress and assessments.
