Recently, I have been offered the position of a support worker for adults with learning difficulties. I am very interested in social work, but would find it difficult to find the time to retrain as a qualified social worker. What should I do?
I think it all depends on how far you want to go within the social work field. In order to be a frontline social worker or manager, you would need to be fully qualified but there may be other opportunities for you to consider. There are many posts that are social care-focused, which take into account that not everyone will be fully qualified but may have other valuable skills.
