Arts: Young film-makers' contest now open

The festival is open to entries from young people aged under 21 who have directed, written or starred in a film lasting no more than six minutes.

The closing date for applications is 28 June. More than 100 films were shown at last year's event.

Separately, First Light, the UK Film Council's film-making initiative for young people, is holding a roadshow in Nottingham on 18 May.

The event will encourage youth organisations and young people to apply to the initiative in order to get lottery funding to make short digital films.
