A group of 15 young people from Somerset spent three months producing a mural for their village playing fields. They completed the project, part of the Somerset Rural Youth Project's community arts programme, on 14 June. The young people worked alongside community artist Jo Cassidy and youth workers. The project was instigated by some of the young people, who disliked the drab appearance of the garages backing onto the playing fields. Lucy, 17, said: "Doing this has definitely kept us off the streets and out of trouble." Artist and youth worker Perry Chapman commented: "They have completely risen to the challenge and have made a fantastic contribution to their community."
