The T-shirt was the result of a competition run by Lambeth and Lewisham's community safety teams where 10- to 21-year-olds were asked to send in ideas for the T-shirt's slogan. The winning slogan, Trigger Happy? We Ain't Laughing, was suggested by 19-year-old Ronnie McKay and was turned into a T-shirt logo by designer Wale Adeymi and graffiti artist Remi/Rough. Sam Conniff, co-founder of Livity, the marketing company hired to run the community safety teams' No Gun campaign, said: "We've turned a difficult public sector message into a cool youth brand of its own."
