Anti-Social Behaviour: Charities welcome intensive support

Charities have welcomed a 1.25m investment in intensive family support projects.

The Home Office money will fund the introduction of the schemes in 50 anti-social behaviour action areas across the country. George McNamara, policy advisor at NCH, said: "This initiative offers a win-win solution.

Families who need to address their behaviour can do so and communities affected by such behaviour can enjoy an improved quality of life." Home Office minister Hazel Blears, said: "Parents who persist in letting their children run wild, or behave like yobs themselves, will face intensive rehabilitation, backed by the threat of enforcement."
